Sobre Francisco
Born and raised in Argentina, I studied for 13 years with Graciela Reca, one of the country’s foremost piano teachers and a master of the Scaramuzza Technique. Graciela, an intimate friend and collaborator of Martha Argerich, and winner of the Konex Platinum Prize awarded every 10 years for the best piano pedagogy in Argentina, profoundly shaped my musical foundation. I have performed as a soloist and in chamber music across Argentina, Germany, and London, earning several awards in piano competitions.
Throughout my career, I’ve also been fortunate to participate in numerous masterclasses and chamber music courses, which have enriched my approach to music. I’ve learned from world-renowned pianists like Boris Giltburg (First Prize, Queen Elisabeth Competition) and Kotaro Fukuma (First Prize, Cleveland International Piano Competition; Prize Winner, Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition), among others from various countries, each of whom has contributed to my development as a musician and teacher.
After moving to London, I spent 2.5 years teaching over 35 students weekly, ranging from beginners to advanced levels. My teaching covered all styles, with a particular emphasis on preparing students for ABRSM and Trinity exams, from Grade 1 to Grade 8 and beyond, including diplomas. I’m proud to say that all my students passed their exams, with many achieving Distinction.
Now, I’ve arrived in Amadora to share my knowledge in English and Spanish (and hopefully soon in Portuguese).
PS: Aside from piano, I’m passionate about languages. I’m fluent in English and Spanish, and I also know French and Italian. Currently, I’m learning Korean and (of course) Portuguese. I’m always happy to try to chat in your language and make you feel at home!

My piano lessons are deeply rooted in the Scaramuzza Technique, which I studied intensively for 13 years under the guidance of Graciela Reca, widely regarded as one of the best piano teachers in Argentina. I further refined my approach while teaching at one of the most prestigious private tuition companies in London, specializing in this technique across three venues in Central London. The Scaramuzza Technique, known for its effectiveness in developing strong, precise finger-work and expressive playing, forms the foundation of my teaching.
I believe that lessons should be personalized to each student’s goals and interests to keep them motivated. I enjoy selecting music that the student likes, while also ensuring it challenges them just enough to keep the learning process engaging and rewarding. In our first lesson, I often ask students to ‘think big,’ and then I show them how achievable their goals are when they know the right approach.
With a strong classical background, I can teach you how to read music from scratch in the traditional way, whether in English (British or American) or Spanish.
For those who already play and want to improve, I’m happy to guide you using a proven technique that includes five fundamental movements and by teaching you how to practice effectively at home—something that surprisingly, many teachers overlook. I’ll share insights and discoveries from my 20 years of playing the piano.
As part of my teaching approach, I provide a detailed written report after each lesson, delivered the same day. This report includes a summary of the lesson, key points covered, and specific practice recommendations. It’s a system I adopted while teaching in London at one of the most prestigious academies specializing in ABRSM and Trinity instruction. This ensures students can track their progress and have clear, actionable steps to continue improving between lessons.
