Super professor

Emmanuel é um dos nossos melhores professores de Violoncelo. Possui um perfil de qualidade, um diploma verificado, um rápido tempo de resposta e ótimas avaliações por parte dos seus alunos!

Sobre Emmanuel

B.Mus, currículo RSM, University of Aberdeen M.Mus, Guildhall School of Music and Drama Dip.Mus ABRSM, Yorkshire Dip. Psicologia e Educação Infantil University of Aberdeen Royal Academy of Creative Arts, HOD Creative Arts Department.

Excelente! I appreciated Emmanuel's "can-do" attitude. As a multi-instrumentalist, he has conquered more than one instrument and, as such is a good model for how to be strong on more than one instrument. I found the pace that we took in our trial lesson a bit fast for me. He covered things well, but it was difficult to capture everything in the limited time available. If I were to study with him, I would need to have a very thorough note-taking system so as not to miss any important ideas.

Perfeito! Emmanuel is a superb teacher. He teaches my 8 year old son cello online. I was unsure if online music lessons would work but Emmanuel is excellent at building a relationship with my young son. He is a very positive and caring person and knows how to teach music to young children. For his birthday, Emmanuel suggested for my son to play "Happy Birthday" on the cello to mix the class up a little. His energy and personality is beautiful, kind and his expertise is remarkable.

I met Emmanuel in June of 2019 and he gave me piano lessons. 3 years later, I have written my grade 6 piano exams and passed with distinctions. I just want to spend the next few seconds to say thank you to Emmanuel. An amazing teacher and motivator. He challenges me to become better each week than I was the week before and for this I am thankful.

It's our absolute pleasure to recommend Emmanuel as an excellent, reliable and trustworthy piano teacher.

Emmanuel has been tutoring our 3 year old daughter for the past 4 months. Our daughter has learned how to read basic musical sheet notation and we are seeing her skills grow each week.

Emmanuel has a creative way of applying lessons and theory to each students level of understanding. This is what makes him distinct from the rest. He also possesses an immense degree of patience which is also critical in his business.

Without a doubt, my wife and I confidently recommend Emmanuel as a talented and exceptional piano teacher.

Mais detalhes sobre Emmanuel

When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?
My first experience with music came from the Anglican church. I would go to church in hopes of hearing the good music that always comes from the choir stand, not knowing whether it was pre-recorded music or if it was being played live. I eventually joined the choir and the rest is history. My favourite instrument to listen to is the voice (choral music) And my favourite instrument to play is the piano.
Is there a particular type of music or an artist that you could happily listen to on a loop?
Yes, Baroque music and better if it is choral. I love Some of Bach's Fugues and I enjoy his choral works, but the best for me would be 3 of G.F Handel's albums - Messiah, Judas Maccabeus and Coronation Anthems.
Explain to us the most difficult or 'riveting' lesson you could personally give to one of your students.
It is quite difficult to pick one, but I would go for any topic around Viva Voce or Tonal Harmony and Counterpoint.
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
I think every instrument is difficult in its very own respect and mastering any instrument takes years of dedicated practice and consistency. That being said, some instruments have very significant difficulties, especially in technique. In this aspect, I would say mastering the Oboe requires a lot of work.
What are your keys to success (aside from do re mi fa sol ...)?
In music education, be it practical or theoretical, there is only one key to success and it is practice; a lot of it. With consistent practice, you can master any topic and any instrument.
Name three musicians you dream of meeting on a night out, and explain why.
This would be Abdulah Ibrahim, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Abdulah Ibrahim, because of his creative wisdom and expertise in composing piano music, and I have some questions I would like to ask about one of his pieces 'The Wedding'. Tasha Cobbs has a voice that once inspired me to consider singing again and I could get a few pointers from meeting her in person. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is a group I have always dreamt of meeting. They are one of the major reasons I am doing what I do today.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.
The day I stumbled and fell from a stage in College, this was a performance in celebration of the 60th anniversary of my college. I went on stage nervous as it was my first major performance and the audience numbered over 800. I was not recollected and halfway through the first concerto, my saxophone hit my music stand which fell and tripped my seat and I fell backwards with a loud thump. The audience gasped as did my colleagues who made fun of me for the remainder of my years at college.
What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
I pay rapt attention to detail and all my lessons are planned 4 weeks ahead, and this helps me tackle every issue that may arise weeks ahead of time.
