I’m a friendly and communicative person who believes that learning a language should be a positive and enjoyable experience. As a native European Portuguese speaker, I can help you learn not only the language, but also the expressions and phrases that people actually use in everyday life.
I’m very patient, and you will never be judged for making a mistake. To me, a mistake simply means that you are trying and that is something I value. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, practising, making mistakes, and gradually becoming more confident.
Most importantly, I genuinely care about your progress. I’ll be there to celebrate your achievements, whether it’s successfully having your first conversation in Portuguese or simply understanding something that seemed difficult before.

I do not have any formal teaching qualifications or professional teaching experience. However, I have some volunteer teaching experience, where I taught basic computer skills to elderly people.
As a native European Portuguese speaker, I believe I can offer a particularly useful learning experience for students who want to learn European Portuguese. My teaching approach is flexible and adapted to each student’s goals and current level. My initial proposal will depend on what you want to achieve and on your existing knowledge. I have a core approach based on what I find easiest to understand at the beginning, but you may already know some basics, such as how to say goodbye or introduce yourself, for example, from using the Porto Editora textbook. I also have plenty of resources and exercises that we can use throughout the lessons.
I would like to focus on practical and engaging learning, with plenty of speaking practice and roleplays based on real-life situations, such as ordering a coffee, introducing yourself, or having a simple conversation. Whenever appropriate, I may also encourage you to try using what you have learned in real-life situations and share your experience with me in the following lesson. My goal is to make learning European Portuguese practical, approachable, and relevant to your everyday life.
