Sobre Joana

Hi! I'm a graduate in Communication Sciences and hold a postgraduate qualification in Education, Training, Work and Human Resources from the University of Minho. I'm also currently in my second year of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, and I have a C1 level of English.

I'm passionate about languages, communication and discovering different cultures. I'm a creative, patient and approachable person who enjoys finding new ways to explain things and making learning more interesting.

I believe that everyone learns differently, which is why I like to adapt my lessons to each student's interests, needs and goals. Learning a language doesn't have to be boring! We can use music, films, series, conversations and everyday situations to make lessons more engaging and useful.

I understand that learning a new language can sometimes feel challenging, especially when it comes to speaking and making mistakes. That's why I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, practising and learning at your own pace, without pressure.

Whether you want to learn Portuguese to live in Portugal, travel, work, communicate with Portuguese speakers or simply discover a new language, I'll do my best to help you feel more confident and enjoy the learning process.

I'm looking forward to helping you achieve your goals and making learning Portuguese a positive experience!

Learning Portuguese doesn't have to be difficult or boring! My goal is to help you learn the language in a way that feels natural, enjoyable and adapted to your needs.

I am currently in my second year of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). My academic background allows me to explore language, grammar and culture while developing my understanding of how language works in different contexts.

My lessons are personalised according to your level, goals and interests. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some knowledge of Portuguese, we can work together on the skills you want to improve.

Depending on your needs, lessons can include conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and listening comprehension. I enjoy using creative and practical activities, such as everyday dialogues, music, films, texts and topics you genuinely enjoy. This way, you can learn Portuguese through situations that are relevant to your life.

We can focus on Portuguese for everyday communication, travelling, living in Portugal, work or simply discovering a new language and culture. If you need help with a particular topic, we can also adapt each lesson to your specific goals.

I believe everyone learns differently, so I want to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes and practise without feeling embarrassed or pressured.

My aim is to help you build confidence, make steady progress and, most importantly, feel comfortable using Portuguese in real-life situations. Let's find the learning approach that works best for you!
