Sobre Octavie
I am a 20-year-old French university student currently studying European Law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.
I have an IELTS C1 certification in English and two years of experience as a private tutor, alongside two years of volunteering in educational support for middle and high school students.
Over the years, I have helped students prepare for important exams, including the French Brevet and Baccalauréat, as well as the English speciality exam. These experiences have taught me how to adapt to different learning styles, identify students' difficulties and find the right way to explain things.
I am patient, approachable and genuinely passionate about languages and teaching. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and expressing themselves without fear of being judged.
Whether you're looking to improve your grades, prepare for an exam or simply become more confident speaking English, I will be happy to support you throughout your learning journey!
My aim is not just to teach English, but to help you enjoy learning it and see how much progress you can make!

I believe that the best way to learn a language is to enjoy it! My teaching approach is based on three things: repetition, curiosity and practice.
I like to introduce new concepts in every lesson while regularly revisiting what we have already learned. Repetition is key to making progress, building long-term memory and feeling more confident over time!
But learning English shouldn't feel like memorising endless grammar rules! I believe we learn much better when we study things that genuinely interest us. That's why I love incorporating films , music , books , history and even students' favourite hobbies into my lessons. Whether it's analysing song lyrics, discussing a film or exploring an interesting historical event, I want students to discover English through a different lens and stay curious about what they're learning.
I also place great importance on speaking! We practice through conversations, discussions and interactive exercises to help students express themselves more naturally, improve their pronunciation and develop their accent. Making mistakes is part of the process, so I always encourage students to speak freely and gain confidence.
With two years of private tutoring experience, two years of volunteering in educational support and an IELTS-certified C1 level in English, I adapt my lessons to each student's personality, interests and objectives.
My goal is simple: to make every lesson useful, stimulating and enjoyable, while helping students make real and lasting progress!
