Sobre Amanda
Outside the classroom, I love music, art, literature, travel, nature, sports, and connecting with people. I play the saxophone in my city’s philharmonic orchestra and I’m the author of three published books. I’m a curious and creative person who truly enjoys learning and sharing meaningful experiences.
I have diverse and practical experience teaching English in both presencial and online contexts, working with teenagers and adults from different backgrounds.
My teaching journey began in 2021, when I worked as a classroom assistant in a public school, supporting lessons and helping students with comprehension, participation, and confidence in the classroom. This experience gave me a strong foundation in classroom dynamics, student support, and inclusive teaching practices.
I later volunteered as an in-person English teacher at the CJCC (Centro Juvenil de Ciência e Cultura), a public educational institution, where I planned and delivered communicative lessons focused on real-life language use, speaking practice, and learner engagement.
In 2023, I lived in the United States for one year as an au pair, which allowed me to use English daily in authentic situations and gain deep cultural immersion. During this period, I also completed an English course at the Colorado School of English, further strengthening my fluency, pronunciation, and listening skills.
Currently, I work as an online English conversation teacher at Fluency Academy, where I help students develop speaking fluency, expand vocabulary, and communicate more naturally and confidently. My lessons are student-centered and adapted to each learner’s goals, interests, and learning style.
I hold the Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), accredited by The TEFL Academy (RQF). Through this qualification, I developed solid knowledge of teaching methodology, lesson planning, classroom management, and communicative language teaching (CLT).
My subject expertise includes conversation-focused English, pronunciation, everyday vocabulary, travel English, and confidence-building for real-life communication. I believe learning a language should be practical, meaningful, and connected to the student’s personal experiences.
